Monday Poetry Train

Not much of an effort but at least I showed up. I think I'm still recovering from the blogaversary.

The Essence of You

Your sigh is enough
To calm my heart
To lift my soul
… the essence of you.

I’ll take you with me
A touch on my fingers
A promise on my lips
… the essence of you.

Wrapped safe and warm
I’ll wander my day
Ponder my night
In the essence of you

You wrote this for me didn't you? I knew you were only ignoring me because you really liked me. I grow on ya after awhile. Admit it.

Yeah, I agree. That middle verse has nice imagery. I still don't like the rest of it. It feels stilted. Doesn't move well. But thanks to everyone.

ADMIT IT DAMMIT! I was even nice (don't gasp in shock) and resisted the impulse to post a snarky comment on your newest video. See, I can play nice. Okay, not really. Just for you I'm going to post my holiday poem on the train. I'm into sharing today.

Love the sentiment! It's been so long since I felt that way it was a shock to my system to read it.
